Samsung users tend to experience PowerDot device connectivity issues more often than other Android users, and the general “how-to” guidelines and in-app helpers may not be sufficient, especially for cases with Samsung phones or tablets. That’s why we are posting the additional info here for you.

Here are the steps to quickly fix issues connecting PowerDot units to Samsung devices.

    CLEAR BLUETOOTH CACHE

    1. Make sure your PowerDot app is up to date in Google Play Market.
    2. Turn on the Airplane mode on your smartphone.
    3. Go to your phone Settings, find the “Location” option, and turn it Off.
    4. Go to your phone Settings > Apps, tap on the “More options” (three dots) button at the top right, and select “Show system apps”. Find the “Bluetooth” app, open it, select the “Storage” option, and tap on “Clear cache”.

The Bluetooth system app may have a different location on Galaxy S21, S22, and “Ultra” models. If you can’t find it as per the directions above, try the steps below:

    • Open your phone Settings > Battery and device care > Storage
    • Tap on the “More options” (three dots) button to open Advanced settings
    • Select “Other apps” from the list
    • Tap on “More options” button at the top right and select “Show system”
    • Find the “Bluetooth” app in the list, open it, and Clear cache

    POWERDOT FACTORY RESET

    1. Make sure your PowerDots are switched off.
    2. Open your phone Settings > Connections > Bluetooth.
    3. Unpair (forget) your PowerDot devices if those remained in the Paired devices list.
    4. Perform a Factory Reset on your PowerDot 2.0 units: turn on the device first, then while turning it off keep holding the power button for a few more seconds until the unit turns back on and blinks the lights.

    CONNECT POWERDOT TO SMARTPHONE

    1. Turn On your Location.
    2. Turn Off the Airplane Mode.
    3. Turn On your PowerDot device(s).
    4. Open the “PowerDot” app, sign in, and proceed to connect the units.
    5. You will be asked to allow the app access to your location. Make sure to grant that permission.
    6. Once the app locates the first unit, it will request(*) to confirm device pairing. Make sure to confirm it.

*- Ensure that the Do Not Disturb mode is OFF on your phone, as it may be blocking the display of the paring request.
